Fifteen Michigan singer-songwriters unite to bring you this CD of original music about the state where they - and perhaps you - have chosen to live. It is a collaborative effort of “Music from the Heart” with the main goal being to take you on a listening journey of some very special songs by some very special songwriters. You’ll experience the Great Lakes with Les’s “The Captain”, Claudia’s “Grampa Johnson”, and Paul’s Leelanau Schooners”. You’ll chuckle at Kathy’s “Alpena Colada” and Patrick and Norm’s “The Sauna Song”. You’ll develop an understanding of the special characteristics that this great state offers through Louan’s “Leelanau County”, Kirby’s “Just a Michigan Thing”, Ruth’s “Michigan Girl”, Adair’s “Michigan Oh Michigan”, and Dick’s “Wondering Why”. You’ll get a picture of Michigan’s small towns with Barbara’s “Born and Raised in Michigan” and Chris’s “Saints”. You’ll get to know some real Michiganders with Michael’s “Michigan Farmer” and Robin’s “Big Sam”. Last, but certainly not least, you can develop your own degree of introspection through Jim’s “The Manistee River Song”
